Start to Run

Have you never run before?
 
Have you ever thought 'running is not for me'?
 
Or, have you had a long break from running?
 
It can be intimidating to get out there and start running, whether it is your first time or you're getting back into it.
 
This ten-week plan will help you ease into the sport!
Join our “Start to Run” program!

 

  •  A baby-step-by-baby-step training plan to run 5 km in 10 weeks

  •  Training in a group, once a week, on Tuesday

  •  A motivational boost from your coach and your team members

  •  A chance to expand your social circle

 

 

For everyone

 

This program is designed with total beginners in mind.

You don't have to be super fit to participate - all levels are welcome.

Everyone will run at his or her own pace.

Training

 

Even if you haven't been working out, this 5 km training schedule will let you claim finish-line bragging rights in just 10 weeks. You only need to train three days a week, through a combination of walking and running.

 

We will train once a week with the group (on Tuesdays) and train twice weekly on your own and at your own convenience.

What to wear and bring with you?

 

You will need to wear running shoes for training. Please wear comfortable clothes with several layers so that you stay warm during the warm up and cool down, but something that you can take off during the main part as you may get a bit hot and sweaty.

 

Meeting place 

 

We will meet at the ASP reception. We will walk together to the Parc de Saint Cloud.

 

Weather

 

These classes will go ahead regardless of weather conditions, as the nature of the class will ensure that you stay warm during the activity. Sometimes, it ican be quite nice to run and exercise in the rain or chilly weather because it warms you up. You're also be really proud of yourself for venturing out and making the most of your day rather than opting for the sofa. ;)

 

Health

 

Let your instructor know if you have any health issues or special needs. And be sure to tell your instructor if you have any difficulties. 

It is always a good idea to check with your doctor before starting any new exercise program. Once you get the go-ahead to start the program, pull that hair back, lace up those shoes, and let’s get started!
